Auce Biele is a Latvian contemporary artist known for her vibrant and expressive works that often incorporate elements of portrait and flowers.
I have always been interested in discoveries of techniques and possibilities, everything that can be done with fabric. I can say that there have been 3 periods - the Moroccan period, the denim period, and now, completely light and transparent.
Born in Latvia, she studied design at the Riga Design High School and later earned a bachelor's degree in Visual Communication from the Latvian Academy of Art. She also pursued studies at the University of the Arts Bremen in Germany and worked in Switzerland for a design company. Biele moved to a small Berber fishing village, Tamraght Ouzdar, near Agadir on Morocco's Atlantic coast, where she lived and worked for several years. The vibrant environment and rich culture of Morocco significantly influenced her color palette, shifting from darker tones to a full spectrum of bright, vivid colors. After spending approximately nine years in Morocco, Biele returned to Latvia and started to work in the Latvian National Opera and Ballet as a textile designer, continuing to paint and experimenting with fabrics.
